2002-03-12 - 10:14 p.m.� Work sucked today, as I expect it will for several months (see yesterday's entry), and I really, really, need some more sleep if I'm going to be able to deal with it without killing someone. Sunday night I just couldn't sleep. No real good reason, other than the fact that I often don't sleep well on Sunday nights. Then last night, some old woman on the first floor decided to make a late night snack of soup, and then forgot about it until it started to burn and set off the alarms for the whole building, at 1:10 in the morning. This not only meant leaving my warm bed to go into the cold, cold night, but it also meant trying to corral two very freaked out cats. Even more fun considering we just have the one carrier. I'm just glad my mother was home, because Mittens trusts her in an emergency far more than she trusts my brother and I. Mom put her into a backpack, which she wore like a baby carrier, and I yanked Simon out from under the bed, and dropped him in the carrier. Poor guy thought he was scared at the shelter-- he didn't count on being adopted into fire alarm central. So, in conclusion, work sucks, Heather needs some sleep.
