2002-10-22 - 7:13 a.m.� I hate waking up when it's still dark outside. It's like a bad joke when my alarm goes off and it still looks like the middle of the fucking night. Pottery class was sort of exciting last night. I got to bring home the 4 pieces I glazed last week. And here's the big shocker-- they aren't all ugly as sin! One is definitely very ugly, and another one doesn't look quite right, but only because I got wax on the side of it (meaning that there is are some glaze-less spots-- no glaze where the wax touches). But two of them actually look good. The one that I'm most pleased with is my tall star candle holder. I just used the really deep blue glaze, with highlights of light blue on the raised stars. It looks cool, and everyone in the class was oohing and ahhing over it, and certainly no one was doing that for any of my other pieces. I also went on the pottery wheel for a bit last night, and I swear I'm getting worse on it rather than better. I attempted to throw 7 things last night and I only ended up with 2 lopsided little jars. I've only got 2 more classes left, which is kind of disappointing. I've really been enjoying it, even if most of my stuff isn't great.
