2003-02-20 - 9:40 p.m.� Tonight I had the honour of hearing Rubin "Hurrican" Carter speak. I've never been more awed by any speaker or speech. Passionate, heartbreaking, uplifting, inspiring... just wow. He spoke about specifically about his own life, and his wrongful conviction, the racism he had experience. He also talked more broadly about breaking down the barriers within yourself, the importance of attitude and about never giving up on yourself and your dreams. I'm still too awed to put together a coherent entry about my thoughts about the presentation. All I can say is that if anyone ever has the chance to hear him, do not turn it down.
