2002-09-27 - 5:07 p.m.� I got a memo from the big boss man this week, regarding the proper storage of confidential information. Here's a quote: "All confidential files are to be filled in the filling cabinet and not left out on your desk overnight or without your presents at your desk." If the above passage does not look strange to you, read it again paying special attention to the spelling, and keeping in mind that it was written by a man who gets paid probably 4 times my salary to be the boss, and also to do things like write up reports and policies. Another coworker and myself decided to reply to this message. Valuing our jobs, and figuring he wouldn't get the joke anyway, we decided to reply to his assistant, rather than the boss man himself. Our reply was something like: "We cannot follow the directives outlined in this memo as we do not have any presents. Why were we not given any presents? Perhaps we should check for some in the filling cabinets." Yep, sometimes you just have to make your own fun at work.
