2001-07-23 - 9:27 p.m.� Here is a brief rundown on the last 24 hours: * It's been far too hot. The only relief comes from sitting in a cold bath or squirting myself with ice water from a spray bottle. Yay. I was actually glad that the weekend was over so I could go back to work and bask in the air conditioning. * I found two earwigs in the bathroom last night. Imagine my delight in discovering that I am co-habitating with really disgusting insects. Yay. * I stayed up far later than I had planned last night taking care of my brother, who was sick, quite likely as a result of the heat. I tell you, there is not much that is worse than the smell of vomit on a hot night. I wasn't feeling too great myself, and one whiff almost (thankfully just almost) led to a chain reaction. * Arrived at work today to the remembrance that everyone in my immediate department is on vacation. Everyone except me, of course. Again I say, yay. Actually today wasn't too bad. It was pretty quiet. The old people must have been too hot to gather up the energy to be ornery today. I got all my outstanding work done in the morning, and the phones were so quiet in the afternoon that I was able to sit in my cubicle and read. Here's hoping that tomorrow is less with the stifling heat.
