New Kitty
My brother came home from his volunteer job up at the hospital cradling a little ball of orange fluff.
Yup, we have a kitten.
Someone abandoned a basket of kittens on the edge of the college, right near a townhouse complex on my brother's way home. A woman and her kids found them about a half hour before my brother came by. She was going to keep one, and the humane society was on the way to pick up the rest. She offered one to my brother. I'm sure he debated it for about 10 seconds before scooping him (or possibly her) up.
He looks pretty healthy for an abandoned cat. And clean. Well fed, even. And he seems very affectionate and well adjusted. We've got him away from the other cats for now, until we get the okay from the vet. My brother made an appointment tomorrow, so hopefully we'll know soon whether or not he's okay. I really hope he's okay. I've already bonded, and I do not want to give up another cat. My brother keeps going on about how it was meant to be that he happened upon this cat. I hope he's right.
