2004-12-24 - 10:33 p.m. I volunteered to pet sit my supervisor's kitten for a few days over the holiday. She is totally adorable, and behaving beautifully. She also really wants to make friends with my cats. Mittens, who put up such a huge stink when we brought Simon home, is surprisingly okay with the kitten. She doesn't want to play with her, but she has not been hostile. She's just been making it clear that she DOES NOT WANT TO PLAY with the little furball. Simon is reacting with similtaneous seething hatred and fear at the kitten. He refuses to leave my mother's room. He barely wants to get out from under her bed. Anything, be it cat or human, that comes in the room is met with growling and hissing. I feel bad for him. He's seriously traumatized by the kitten. But he only has to deal with it for a couple days. And in the meantime, I get to play with a kitten!
