2004-01-07 - 4:16 p.m.� This morning was awful. It was fine when I left the house but by 9:00 am it was snowy, blowy, and cold. The roads were a mess, and there were white out conditions. I spent the morning at work making phone calls to cancel my services and call taxis for the clients who absolutely had to be somewhere. Most people I called were pretty nice about it, but as always happens some people completely chewed me out. It seems that they were under the mistaken impression that I can control the weather. A lot of my clients seem to be under that impression. I go through it every time the weather causes us to cancel. Perhaps, as Marla suggested to me via email, they thought that that channel on tv where they tell you what it's going to be like outside is "The Heather Network" and not "The Weather Network." Silly old people. I can joke about it now because I am sitting at home in my cosy little apartment. I have been sitting here in my cosy little apartment for more than an hour now. I worked through lunch, and also used an hour of my banked time, and left work at 2:30. And my bus pulled into the station just as I got there, so I got to come straight home. So even though my morning made me want to cry, my afternoon made me want to dance with joy. And also with geekiness. Because for Heather, there is no dancing without geekiness. I think now I am going to make myself a big mug of hot chocolate and watch me up some cartoons.
