Ramblings about commercials, moving, and Coen brothers

I just saw a commercial for the video/dvd release of Shrek. The tagline at the end said "Everybody owns it. You should too!"

Good lord, who wrote that slogan? Krusty the Klown? It's just about as shameless as Krusty's Mount Splashmore campaign.

Anyway...

I meant to write something here this weekend, but I was too damned tired. We moved. We moved a whole lot. Saturday from 8:30 to about noon was spent moving boxes. Sunday was spent wiping down cupboards and shelves, and unpacking as much as we could without furniture to put anything into. I ache all over. It's not as bad today as it was yesterday. I'm in horrific shape, obviously. I don't mind the muscle aching though-- it is the pain of moving, and that's a pain that I am more than happy to be experiencing.

I'm so excited about moving. It's been pretty fun so far. I enjoyed Saturday morning. My brother's friends (who came over to help) were good guys. I was pleased to be able to hold my own with them both in the physical hauling of boxes. And I enjoyed the conversation that we had over pop and chips while we were taking a break.

Another extremely fun part of the moving has been finding my stuff. I found a box of mine with a bunch of my cds. I did my dorky dance of joy on Saturday afternoon when I opened that box to find my Motown collection and my Blues Master cds. And I found a box that was filled with my beloved animation books. And another with my "Life in Hell" collections. Oh happy day!

The rest of my weekend was spent lounging on the couch watching tv. I feel I earned it this weekend though. I watched the new episode of "Absolutely Fabulous," and I watched O Brother, Where Art Thou again. I love that movie-- I think it is rivalling Raising Arizona as my favorite Coen movie. The Coen brothers rock my sad little world. I desperately wanted to go see their new movie this weekend, but it is not playing anywhere in the two-bit city I call my home. If it isn't playing anywhere by the time this weekend rolls around, I'm going to be pissed, I tells ya.

Okay, I think I've rambled on enough here for today.

yesterday tomorrow
