I want a Prime Minister who won't steal my cookies.

Work was stressful and annoying today, and I spent the day feeling very pissy. At one of the few moments that I could manage to steal away for a break, I wrote up a diary entry laying out exactly why I was pissy. I emailed it to my home address, but when I got here and looked for it I found that it somehow got lost in cyberspace.

That makes me pissy...er. And I don't really feel like recounting my day again. I'm at the "it's over, just move on" stage of the game.

So instead I will talk about my new favorite dirty Canadian federal election ad.

It's from the Conservatives, and it features the standard voiceover about how Paul Martin and the Liberals love kiddie porn and eat kittens. Nothing really new or unique there.

It's the visuals accompanying the voiceover that really won my heart. While the voice villifies the Liberals, there is a cookie jar pictured on the screen. With each nasty thing they say about the Liberals, someone takes a cookie out of the jar. Then, when they finally get around to talking about how wonderful the Conservatives are, a hand starts putting cookies back into the jar and closes the lid.

Moral of the commercial? Why, it should be clear even to the dumber and more stoned members of the television viewing audience.

If you vote Conservative you'll get cookies! The Liberals want to eat your cookies. You do like cookies, don't you? If you want cookies, you'd better vote for Stephen Harper!

Bloody brilliant, if you ask me. Completely evil, but brilliant.
