Thoughts during the great blackout of 2003

Heather's first thought during the Great Blackout of 2003:

*This had better not be the end of the fucking world because I'm all out of booze.

Other thoughts during the blackout:

*If this is all blamed on overuse of energy resources, I get to be smug and guilt-free because I do not own an air conditioner, I'm very good about turning off lights, and I went all winter without turning on the heat. So there.

* This imitation tap light we bought from the dollar store is a miracle!

*If the sudden lose of power fried my computer I'm going to be super pissed.

*Damn I wish I hadn't spent all that money yesterday on yogurt, ice cream and frozen chicken.

*If this lasts and society turns to looting, I think I'll join in early before all the good stuff is gone.

*I wonder how Sarah got home from work with no subways last night... Sarah? You okay, sweetie?

*Sweet moses am I glad I'm on vacation this week! Because I think I, along with most of my co-workers, would be considered essential, and it's got to be a fucking madhouse there today.

*If this lasts, and I need to go to a store and fight for bottled water and toilet paper, at least I have a decent amount of cash money on me. It's all in change, but cash is cash baby!
